So with VAT now being added on the bill any pricing they need to state it is excluding vat.?
7% VAT or is it more
So a 299 Sunday buffet now costs 320 baht?

"How does VAT works in Thailand? Value Added Tax (VAT) registration is mandatory for any company who has a gross income of THB 300,000 or more in a single month or THB 1,800,000 or more per year."
7% New Year bonus?

I can’t remember how long ago it was but the chain restaurants like Shabushi started doing this. I mentioned to Mrs N I was surprised the starting menu had been ฿399 forever without any price increase. I then decided to pay a bit of attention to the bill & it was ฿399 + VAT so ฿427

Sunday roast buffet today on childrens day as they take a break tomorrow until 21 january, normally when selling from now on should be 299 baht + so signifying vat to be added, ++ would signify also 10% service charge so see how they advertise from now on.
Presume vat is added on the final bill amount not just on the buffet so add vat on everything ie drinks.good to plan to take an extra purple note with you if that is the case.

I find prices excluding VAT or ++ bloody annoying they shoud be up front and advertise the price that you pay.

I think it’s just a way to increase prices without altering all the promotional material.
I mentioned to Mrs N a while ago that I couldn’t understand how Shabushi regular buffet has been ฿399 for years. When we got the bill it was plus VAT so really ฿427

Buffets normally, if say ventured into Bangkok, always advertise like 399+ so vat added,if 399++ means vat and service charge on top so 7% vat and 10% service charge so you know to forget that enticing first point price mentioned
