I put chips on the plate so as not to confuse it with breakfast 🤓

Taters (not chips though) are pretty standard breakfast fare in the states. Hash browns, potato cakes or home fries replace beans and mushrooms as might be served in other parts of the world.

Yes, potatoes are a tasty addition to breakfast, particularly hash browns for me.

I was just trying to convince myself I wasn’t eating a breakfast at 8pm

It was breakfast. Eggs, sausage, beans & jam. You could have piled lamb shanks and Yorkshire pudding on that plate and it would still be breakfast. The only way that could be more breakfasty would be to add some basmati rice, samosas, naan and Rogan josh. Now, that would be absolute breakfast!

Navy (haricot) beans simmered with smoked ham hocks and served with piping hot buttered cornbread.

Not being a home cooker there arent too many opportunities to eat lamb dishes in Udon so when i see it on anywhere its a bonus .. marvelous very authentic shaved Lamb Donna kebab x 2 with garlic and a spicy chilly sauce. I very enjoy... also a beef stoo in the fridge will see me through the weekend.
