icles?

Really?
Actually, quite common where I grew up. Called "mountain oysters or prairie oysters" they were typically harvested from beef, pork, lambs and turkeys. On our farm it was some beef and mostly pork. I participated in quite a few gatherings (castrations) as did many youngsters growing up on a Missouri farm in those days. My preference is "turkey nuts" and as my cousin worked at the Purina Turkey Processing Plant in Moniteau County he would get 10 pound cartons of "turkey fries" for me. Several times I've fried up 20 or 30 pounds of turkey testicles for a summertime get-together with family, friends and neighbors. We'd also have a few hot dogs for those who were a bit squeamish. Neighbors would bring side-dishes.

Testicle consumption is not at all unusual in rural Missouri. We even have a "Testicle Festival" in Olean, Missouri.

Does a Turkey have big balls?

I think I ate bulls balls in a restaurant in Madrid once. It was either that or its cock. On a similar subject, I paid a visit to the bars in Udon this week for the first time in a couple of years. Bleak.

Turkey balls vary in size according to the weight of the bird but on average I'd say they are about the size of a small to average Thai lime. They are much bigger than you would expect. They have a milder flavor than lamb, beef or pork testicles but my second choice would be lamb after turkey. My least favorite is beef and growing up we mostly ate pork. You have to be very careful in preparing the turkey testicles as a membrane has to be removed and the testicle must be sliced open a bit. If you don't slice the turkey nut it will explode when deep frying in the hot oil.

The things you learn on a backwater forum. This is much more interesting than Doodoos thread on the other channel.

No balls in this but, I liberated it from Topps in KK today to enjoy with a salad, sushi and bread. Very moreish.

I've never had that before. Looks tempting. I'll check at Tops or have the missus take a look. Should be good with some artisan bread.

One of our nieces brought us a big lot of homegrown vegetables so this evening we are having that with spaghetti bolognese and toasted garlic parmesan bread.

I’ve heard snippets of a bbq delivery tonight but strangely everything is hush hush with a lot of whispering between Mrs N & The Boy. Not sure why. Probably ordered an extra 10 baht of soup base & thinks she’s being extravagant
