We've got three bell peppers left from that sack of eleven. I may roast a couple of them for making pimento cheese. The missus enjoys just eating the fresh peppers with her Isaan grub.

This evening Mrs. S made ปลาทอดสามรส (pla thawt sahm roht) = three flavor fish (barramundi). The three flavors are sweet, sour and spicy. Served with brown rice. Outstanding. ++)(*

Yes, pla kapong khao (ปลากะพงขาว).

Barramundi (ปลากะพงขาว)
Fish
Description
Description, The barramundi or Asian sea bass, is a species of catadromous fish in the family Latidae of the order Perciformes. The species is widely distributed in the Indo-West Pacific region from South Asia to Papua New Guinea and Northern Australia. Wikipedia

Most restaurants will call it Asian sea bass or just sea bass on their menu. Yes, enough for the Mrs. & me. There was quite a bit of fish under the peppers, onions and tomato sauce that she made. The fish is first filleted and cut into pieces, then they and the fish carcass are fried separately in the wok. After frying, the fish is "reconstructed" by putting the boneless pieces back on top of the fish and covered with the three flavor sauce.

I've caught barramundi in both Australia and Thailand. The ones purchased in the markets are farm raised, mostly in coastal areas south of Bangkok. Barramundi are a superb fighting fish and spend a lot of time in the air. Fun to catch because they jump so much and make long, strong runs. They are one of the finest "eating" fish you can get. They are more expensive than pla nin (tilapia) but Mrs. Shado has taken a liking to them and it's her preferred fish now.

Here is a pic of Mrs. Shado and a barramundi she caught while fishing in Thailand.

Stab me vitals, that's a big fish, as big as a French Bulldog on steroids.

This reminds me that I haven't been fishing for a while now, not since I visited Brick's pond and caught bugger all (you can guess who was catching all the fish).

Must have been Brick, I wasn't there that day. :-D

I talked with Rick today. He's busy as ever and doesn't post much on either Udon forum but he is doing fine and we're gonna do a bit of fishing as soon as this CV-19 thing is a bit more manageable. That may be a while.
