Re: The Country Grill
Country grill just published a new updated and expanded menu. She has an everyday breakfast 180, big boy breakfast 250, full English breakfast 250 and mega breakfast 299. Luckily tea is free as I did notice 65b a cup for English tea.
Of course I had to see what the market pies are pulling now days, chicken pot pie with mash and veg 350b, or beef and ale for 399b.
The days of ram raided buffets around town are gone. Sunday carvery was good as veg don't cost much, a Yorkshire only cost a few Baht. Inflation is taking a toll on prices

Re: The Country Grill
Just had a quick look around fb pages of farang restaurants plus from memory, never seen chicken pot pie as an offering so difficult to judge at whar price that should be marketed at,prices did go up at noks but she expanded her aircon comfort for dining, extra costs then pay more, even maxx finally has gone part aircon, last time at his the aircon section fully packed, non aircon half full, weather seems to be getting warmer each year, wish were more aircon options around town,i go to both options but pay more in aircon understandably even drinks prices.
Where is the farang market these days, everything must be super cheap, then choose non aircon, easy
Buffets just attract the charlies out,1000 bahts worth for fixed 299,never wins imo,ask kev and the gallery, the pisstake there.
Maybe brickhouse best of both worlds same price just try and get the aircon section.
Out n about, my choice, a sweaty bollox breakfast 30 baht cheaper or a delightful lunch with a scarf sround my neck for 50 baht more

Re: The Country Grill
Very true pomps, comes down to farangs like piping hot food . That's the issue with my lunches, good in the cool season but when it gets to 40c ño one wants to sit outside. Not when there's two other places making great Sunday lunch just around the corner with air con. People asked if would would make it in kutchap
. It's hard to sell a loaf of bread out here let alone roast dinners.

Remember yonks ago a couple of french took the absolute piss out of mojos buffet, bar near horseshoe and steves, they kept going back seconds snd thirds, gave the french contingent in town a bad name

Re: The Country Grill
You'r a hard man Pomps. Guessing too late for you.
Sounds like more of a lifestyle choice than a business choice to not open until 3pm. If your totally missing breakfast and lunch why not just wait until 5pm to open. Can't imagine the 3 - 5pm slot is prime time, but I could be wrong

Re: The Country Grill
Everything will come good,a slight overlap,Woodhouse midday until 8pm and Countrygrill from 3pm so nok busy in both places serving food.
Woodhouse better for songkran and beer specials will get a certain crowd in daily, good to save money sometimes
Not seen any update about tilapia/pla nin or cod being served 269 baht, all in the taste test

Re: The Country Grill
Are they 2 separate locations? Seems like that would be a pain to manage. 2 separate kitchens, 2 sets of equipment, ingredients and 2 sets of rent to pay?
Still think the book house at Nong Sim was the best location they had.
Anyway hope all is going well as she certainly seems like a grafter
